The beautiful silk pillowcase came with instructions on how to tell if it was real silk. There was even a burn test instruction sheet to prove that it is real silk. I was a little taken aback.I thought, well, who would do THAT?But, being a forensic chemist by profession I had to do it!I took a small sample from the seam and burned it and it smelled like burning hair, like real silk, and left black ash like real silk.(Hey, just google it!)Of course I had a negative control sample (polyester satin from a pillowcase I had made), which melted when it was burned, like polyester does.Because of the reasonable price, I half expected this item NOT to be real silk, but it is real silk.I also burn tested fibers from my old “silk” pillowcase purchased from another seller....and...you guessed it...it was not silk. It melted...turned into a sad little piece of plastic.I will purchase again...and highly recommend this silk pillowcase.I am very, very surprised that these silk cases are simply not as soft as others I have owned or even as soft as some of the Egyptian cotton I own. It's hard to describe but the weave is not consistent, it is as if the warp and weft are not the same quality of fiber. There is a slight roughness to the texture when you run your hand across them. I do like them and will continue to use them, but these are not buttery soft as I would have expected.The first couple of nights of using it i was obsessed! My hair came out so good the next morning and it was just great, comfortable sleep overall. Then I washed it. Followed the instructions on the little tag and now it’s just not as soft and silky anymore:/ I’m disappointed since I only washed it for about 15 minutes and was very careful with it. I expected the silky feel to last longer. Now it’s just eh.I really like this pillow case. Shipped fast, and is nice and soft on my skin. I bought it for hair and skin purposes. The only bummer is it stains easily, you do have to hand wash, and it takes almost a day to dry. Aside from that, I will be buying more for my room - was worth the money!This is the second one I've ordered, the first one was for a trial, but the trial run only lasted a couple of days and I ordered the second. Have laundered on gentle and hung to dry with no problem. It doesn't seem like my hair gets all dry and fuzzy and it also doesn't get "hot" as I note I am not flipping my pillow over much. I like these a lot, kind of spendy but all in all a good deal. I have a kind of odd pillow that doesn't usually fill the case and these fit well.I love these sheets. They are very, very soft. I have only had them on the bed for a week and I enjoy sleeping in. They were easy to wash and no pilling occurred. I have a memory foam mattress and the fitted sheet fit great with a little extra room (for a thicker mattress). It comes with 4 pillow cases which I didn't expect (and didn't read the label!). The color is a soft beige and matches with anything for the most part. It has been hot (summer), but the sheets stay cooler. No frills, simplistic, but it is what I like.These are so soft and so nice to sleep on. They feel just like the much more expensive brand. I am very glad I made the purchase. The only issue I have is that my face cream (vitamin C based) stained the cover the very first night I slept on it... so bummed... now I have a beautiful pillowcase with large orange stains on it. Lesson learned to make sure my face creams are fully absorbed before I lay my head down!I washed the sheets and pillow cases as directed. I even dried the sheets outside. Still I was very disappointed even though I spent more than $100 and expected a high quality product. My husband and I had a very hard time placing the bottom sheet over the mattress so that it would fit on all four corners. So much so that one corner ripped and now has a hole. NOT wrinkle proof NOR soft. DO NOT BUY THESE VERY EXPENSIVE SHEETS!! ?
