In the mid-1970s while traveling in Canada, I stumbled on this album in a cut-out bin for a dollar or so and figured "what the heck." Wow. I think I wore the grooves smooth listening to "Da Doo Ron Ron" and "Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)." The vinyl is long gone, but not the memories. I recently found the CD reissue and immediately purchased it. Would it sound as good as I remembered? Oh my yes. It's back in personal heavy rotation 40 years after my first listening, and many of my friends have suddenly rediscovered The Belmonts. It's great hearing Dion's new album "Tank Full of Blues" - the voice and the swagger are still there (what my wife calls "snot rock"). I don't know how many of The Belmonts are still around, but I'll bet they'd still sound great in 2012.
